Johnas Chami

Biography

Johnas Chami is a technology entrepreneur, data scientist, and development leader working at the intersection of digital transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic development. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Inua Hub, where he is building a digital empowerment and opportunity ecosystem that connects young people, women, businesses, and civil society organizations with the skills, technologies, partnerships, markets, and global opportunities they need to thrive. With a bachelor’s background in Industrial Engineering and Business and a master’s degree in Data Science, Johnas brings together systems thinking, technology, data, and business strategy to address development challenges. His work focuses on translating emerging technologies particularly artificial intelligence and digital platforms into practical solutions for employment, entrepreneurship, organizational transformation, and economic participation. Through Inua Hub, he leads initiatives spanning digital skills and AI, entrepreneurship and innovation, international partnerships, and community development, while building collaborations across government, the private sector, academia, civil society, and development partners. His work reflects a broader ambition to help shape scalable, locally grounded models for digital transformation and inclusive growth in Tanzania and across Africa. Johnas has also undertaken professional development in digital transformation and sustainability from University of Rome Tor Vergata, strengthening his interdisciplinary approach to designing solutions that balance technological progress, economic opportunity, and long-term development impact.
