Johnas Chami

Johnas Chami is the Founder and Executive Director of Inua Hub, a Tanzanian digital transformation and development leader working at the intersection of technology, enterprise and inclusive economic opportunity.

His journey spans industrial engineering, business, data science, cloud technology and enterprise transformation, with professional experience across Africa and Europe and organizations including Microsoft, Cloudflare and Ipsos. This multidisciplinary background shapes how he approaches development: not as a collection of isolated programmes, but as interconnected systems that must translate skills, technology, entrepreneurship and partnerships into real economic opportunity.

Johnas founded Inua Hub around a simple conviction: "Talent is everywhere, but access to opportunity is not". Having experienced firsthand how education, technology, international exposure and professional networks can transform a young person's trajectory, he is working to bring those opportunities closer to young people, women, entrepreneurs, small businesses and community organizations.

Under his leadership, Inua Hub is building a digital empowerment, innovation and opportunity ecosystem, spanning digital skills and AI, entrepreneurship, women's economic empowerment, SME digital transformation, institutional capacity, mentorship and global partnerships. Its work increasingly focuses not simply on training people, but on creating pathways from "skills to jobs, ideas to enterprises, technology to productivity, and local talent to global opportunity".

Johnas also leads the long-term **Inua 1961** initiative, which seeks to identify and prepare generations of African innovators for education, research, entrepreneurship, leadership and participation in the global digital economy.
